What exactly is RV Life? This is something that I was surprised to see was a frequently Google’d question, “what is RV life?”
So let’s just give it straight:
RV life is
People, couples, families, singles that use a recreational vehicle RV to travel, whether it’s full-time, part-time, some-times, whether it’s parked in a destination or parked at a campground. If you are using a recreation vehicle that you can sleep in. If you have an RV, you’re part of that RV life.
Now that being said, it’s not totally that simple because there are so many different ways to do RV life, but to have it as simply put as what is RV life, it is: A person or peoples that sleep in a recreational vehicle because every single one of these vehicles has a sleeping spot.
Some have full kitchens, some have park kitchens, some have full bathrooms. Some only have composting toilets and outdoor showers. Some have none of that, but every single one of them will have a sleeping space. So that is the breakdown. Congratulations. Now you know what RV Life is.
So it’s not totally that simple.
However, that’s definitely the starting point of what is RV Life. I’ve started this series for RV beginners so that you can understand what RV Life is and how to get into it and what is right for you if you’re interested in doing this.
The RV community has blown up since 2020 because so many couldn’t travel wherever they wanted anymore, or hotels weren’t accepting people, or there were rules and regulations. There were just so many hurdles that RV life made sense for so many people, and so many people realized life could be done in a snap. So let’s get out there and live life to the fullest and let’s do it while traveling in an RV. So again, there are so many different ways to do RV.
RV Life for Beginners Series
I’m going be sharing what are the different types of RVs, because that is super important. There are so many different types as one that drives by right now, put down in the comments what you think just drove by. So I’m going to go over the different types of RVs. I’m also going to go over which is better buying used or buying new and downsides of each one.
I’m also going to go over is RV travel, actually cheaper than owning a home. This is mostly targeted to those who are looking to do full-time RV, living in their RV, full-time traveling, versus owning what’s called a sticks and bricks (home).
Then the final part that I go over is actually being stationary vs Travel, whether living in an RV stationary is cheaper than travel RV.
So we have those four different videos to go over in this RV newbie beginner series. I’m also going to cover another video that just simply goes over all the different terminology because there’s so many different terms. There’s a lot.
The other one that I actually have just made a blog post about, and I’d love for you to go check it out. That is the most important part that if you plan to buy a Towable RV, you MUST use the payload and gross vehicle weight rating calculator. How to Find Your GVWR. Go check out that calculator and see if your set up actually works because some might be surprised to find out they don’t have the right tow vehicle for their RV – Right Now! Go check that out.
Again, the video I’m going to go over will have some details of the terminology like GVWR, payload, bumper pull, class A, towable, etc. I’m going to go over all of it because I want to make sure that you are super comfortable when you get into this RV community. Because it’s a good one. I love this community. They’re amazing and everybody travels so different and everybody is so awesome about it.
What is RV Life?
It is sleeping in a recreational vehicle. That’s it. That is RV Life.
If you are actually interested in learning more about RV Life and the basics. I’m going to go through all the basics and beginner stuff as I’m finding lots of videos of – look at what we’re doing, look at all the travel we’re doing, or this is all the stuff that you need – but nobody goes over the basics.
So I’m going to start there with the basics.
Just like starting at what is RV Life.
